Not sure what games to watch this week? Well don’t worry, Fifth-Down has you covered. There are games to watch starting tomorrow through Monday. 6 days of glorious football watching is upon us!
Wednesday: New England @ Seattle 6:20 PM MT on NBC
You remember that boring game that we all watched to end last season? Well we are going to do it again. But you are still super excited about it because we haven’t watched an NFL game that matters in over 6 months!
Thursday: San Francisco vs the Rams in Australia at 6:35 PM MT (and it is probably like Tuesday in Australia or something) on Netflix
Don’t have Netflix? Do you live under a rock? Get an account. They probably have a free trial or something that you’ll totally forget about until you check your bank account one day. Or call a friend who has Netflix and say I’m coming over with beer and pizza. Figure it out! It’s Football!
Friday: Mizzou @ ku 6 PM MT on Fox
If you are not a Mizzou fan then maybe you don’t care about this one. I know the ku fans don’t care. That’s why the stadium only holds 32,000 people and still can’t sell out. If they win they will brag. If they will lose they will say we don’t care about that, we just care about basketball. They are the worst.
Saturday morning: Oklahoma @ Michigan 10 AM MT on Fox
The Big 10 has done the unimaginable. They have made people cheer for Oklahoma. After they completely screwed Western Michigan out of the win, we as a nation are absolutely united in cheering for Michigan to get stomped every week starting with cheering for the very unlikable Sooners.
Saturday Afternoon: Arizona @ BYU 1:30 PM MT on Fox
Not gonna lie, the early afternoon games suck. But you got to have something to watch in this slot, so this way you don’t have to change the channel.
Saturday late afternoon/early evening: Ohio State @ Texas 5:30 PM MT on ABC
I hate both these teams but I do love great football. I’ll be watching and you will too.
Saturday Night: A variety of games at different times on different channels
I know you eastern time zoners will be fast asleep. Sucks to be you. You should move. The rest of us will be flipping back and forth between North Dakota State @ Air Force, Arkansas @ Utah and Louisiana @ USC while texting your brother about all the games while everyone else in your family is asleep. Is that just me? Am I the only one that does that? Anyway, watch these silly games and have fun and fall asleep on the couch.
Sunday Late Morning/Early Afternoon: Tampa @ Cincy on Fox and Buffalo @ Houston on CBS at 11 AM MT
If you have the ticket like I do you will be watching parts of all the games. If you don’t have the ticket, then you will be forced to watch what ever regional games you are given. Get the ticket people! Why are you living like it is 1989? (I get that it costs money, it’s my one big splurge on myself each year). But even though I am sure I will even check in on the Jets vs Titans these are the games I’ll be most focused on. Does Bake show tear up the new cincy d? Does Joe Burrow survive week 1? Can the Texans offense not combust? Will super hero Josh Allen conquer the incredible Texans D? If he doesn’t, who’s fault will it be?
Sunday late afternoon: Green Bay @ Minnesota and Washington @ Philly at 2:25 MT on CBS and Fox
My son is a die hard Packers fan. My daughter cheers for the Eagles. So there is some rooting interest here.
Sunday Evening: Dallas @ New York at 6:20 PM MT on NBC
The first Sunday night game of the year features two teams I don’t really care for but has interesting storylines. Will the Giants be contenders now that Harbaugh is in town? Will the Cowboys revamped defense slow down the injury brigade of Dart, Skattebo and Nabers? Tune in to find out.
Monday Night: Denver @ Kansas City at 6:15 PM Mountain Time on ESPN and ABC
This is one of the quietest nights of the year at the Campbell house. Danielle and I will sit on opposite ends of the couch hoping for the demise of each others teams while knowing the whole time that one of us is going to be really happy and one of us is going to be really sad. It’s the beauty of football and healthy marriage that can withstand that sort of pain and drama.
And there you have it. You are all set to ignore your family, your job and your responsibilities for the next 6 days. You’re welcome.
